Bratton Reunion, 2008

Every year since well before I was born, my mom's extended family gathers at the farmily farm on the second weekend in August. These family reunions were always one of the highlights of my summer as a child, the one sure chance for this city mouse to rendezvouz as the country mouse, if you will.

This last time Adam and I were able to attend was three years ago when I was pregnant with Katie, so we were quite excited to be able to make it this year, especially because we knew that Katie would have a blast. And a blast she did have.....

Fun on the paddle boat

Looks like a fun time. Did Katie catch any fish?

Pictures are great but they just don't capture the "spirit" and the actual tastes, smells, feelings, sounds, sights, and majesty of it all. Yes, what a thrill for Katie to discover the Bratton Farm for real. We must go back before next summer.
